Jesus often taught in parables, driving home a spiritual truth with a
story that people could understand and relate to.
That’s
what we’re trying to do with our skits. Once again,
it’s an
area where the young people in our church enjoy
participating. Five and six year olds beg to begin
with
small parts. It takes much time, practice and hard
work;
but the skit team has fun doing it and the VBS kids look forward to the
skits. Adults and children work together as a team for the
sake
of presenting the Gospel. The actors often come up
with
great ideas or line changes to fit their character better, to make the
spiritual truth clearer or just because they think the audience will
enjoy it more. Use them as they work for you, make
changes
and insert your own actor’s names in place of ours.
We have been blessed with a creative woman who enjoys putting props
together for us and acts as our stage hand. She
keeps us
all on track. She buys, borrows, creates and makes
requests
for different items. We have included ideas and
things we
have used at the end of our skits. Have fun!!
